Mini-Vacation and a Freebie!

Today I’ve got what I hope is a useful, practical freebie for you!  It comes at the end of this post, so scroll down if you want to skip all the personal stuff!

This past week James and I went on our summer vacation!  I’ll admit it is a bit pitiful…we stayed in Utah. Really it was a 3-day staycation, but we had a great time being together and seeing some things we’d never seen before.  We are planning a BIG TRIP TO ENGLAND for next Spring and as we are trying to save up for that, we opted for cheap and local this time around.  Yay, Utah! We visited Hogle Zoo, the Living Planet Aquarium, the Hill Air Force Base Museum, Antelope Island, and the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Getting ready to go!

This might have been one of my favorite parts of the vacation!  There were so many cool fish!

That would be a polar bear attacking us.

James was like a kid in a candy store with all of those planes!

You may notice that James always has a camera.  This is my life being married to an artist.

Later while we were waiting at Denny’s, James explained the evolution of airplanes to me.

So my camera died before we got to the Salt Flats, but we did a big dress-up photo shoot there for a project of James’s.  Check out his art blog for some pictures of that.  I warn you, I look grumpy…

Oookay, thanks for allowing me that personal bit.  My freebie today has to do with gifts!  We all love gifts, right?  I remember in my first year being astounded by the generosity of my students’ parents!  They were so kind with their donations and teacher gifts at Back-to-School, Christmas, and Teacher Appreciation. Look at my last Christmas haul!  People are SO NICE!

Receiving gifts is one of my love languages :), so I always feel extremely appreciated and grateful at these times.  I always try to write a thank you note in a timely manner and in the past I’ve had a hard time keeping track of who gave what and who’d received their thank you note already, etc.  So, I came up with a little gift and donation tracker for you.  Click on the image or click right here for your free download!  Enjoy!
