Budding Blogs!

I’m very excited to participate in the May Buddy Blog Linky from i (heart) recess!  I’ve only been blogging for a few weeks now, but I am really loving having a little place to write down my thoughts and happenings from my classroom!  As part of the linky we are to answer a few questions to share a little bit more about ourselves!

1. Why did you start blogging?

I make a lot of my own resources for my classroom and I thought it would be nice to have a means of sharing them with others that might be interested.  I love the whole blog idea because you can do so much with it!  It is so fulfilling for me to be able to share with and connect to other teachers near and far!

2. What is your favorite subject to teach?

This is a tough one!  I love teaching all the subjects to my little darlings, but this year I have really developed a love for writing!  With our district’s recent adoption of the Language Arts Common Core I have been putting my heart and soul into our writing activities.  We have had such fun exploring a variety of genres and purposes for writing!

3. Describe your teaching style.

Not perfect :).  But I try hard!  I keep very positive and happy with my students and love to teach with a lot of excitement and fun hands-on activities.  In my experience it is opportunities like this that help students retain the information they are working to internalize.  Plus, being peppy even when I don’t feel like it somehow makes me happier and my day can totally turn around.

4. Give three interesting facts about yourself.

Not sure how super interesting these are, but they are definitely me:

I love anything Jane Austen!  I have 6 sisters! I married my high school sweetheart (aww).

5. Do you have a TPT store?

Yes!  Holy cow, TPT is amazing!  I love seeing what other teachers have created.  It is honestly kind of a dangerous place for me because there is so much that I want to buy!

And, it is way fun to sell and share a few of my creations with you all!  You can check out my store right here!

Well that was kind of fun!  I’m off now to checkout and support some of the other budding bloggers.  Hurray for us!
